Training courses: Counselling skills

  • Do you work in a supportive role?
  • Are you required to offer emotional support to others, discuss sensitive issues or have difficult conversations?

Relate Kent can help you to develop useful counselling skills, interview management techniques and enable positive change. Successful completion of this course can also provide access on to further Relate training.

Supporting Distressed and Emotional People:

A shorter course for professionals who deal with emotional and distressed clients as part of their job, for example management, HR staff, health and social care providers, voluntary and statutory organisations.

By the end of the course the participants will have:

  • Explored the need to build trust and rapport
  • Gained an understanding of how they can positively influence a situation
  • Practised effective questioning and listening skills
  • Practised managing a variety of emotions

Training courses: Schools and colleges

Schools and colleges:
We offer short workshops for young people on issues such as raising self esteem, healthy relationships, managing conflict, dealing with peer pressure and stress, coping with family dynamics and peer mentoring.  We also offer workshops for teachers and school staff on counselling skills, supporting distressed students; workshops for parents.
